2008 Mule Deer

Well again had a hard time finding anyone to go with me down to Leader to hunt Muleys so I went by myself. Had a great trip ened up with 7 deer. Huge thanks goes out to Shane and Jenifer Gruber for letting me stay at there home with them and to Shane for going hunting with me.

The Buck I shot was on the last day with about 5 min. left. Not what I wanted to shot but beter than nothing. You can ask Shane I was very picky as I passed up four other bucks that evening before I took this one, which I almost never. (Thanks for the advice Shane LOL) But all in all It was a great fun hunt that has to become a yearly trip.

2008 Moose Hunt

Well it was a very tuff year for moose this year. The first week I went with Wes, Shea and Daral. Wes and I got up there on Sunday and did some scouting. We got to one spot and I gave a Cow call. Not even 30 secs later a bull answered and showed himself at around 40 yards. So You would think that Monday morning would be a sure thing. Yea Right never seen another moose for the rest of the week. All We found was a kill sight and a antler shead.

Well for week two It was myself and my dad. We ended up seeing 3 bulls but could'nt get shots at them. I seen one across the lake so we got the boat and started after him. We got half way there and the head gasket went in my boat motor so that was that. The only luck we had was there was two guys fishing and they happened to see us. So they were nice enough to tow us back to the dock.

So that was the 2008 Moose hunt so far. Still might make a trip up in the late season once the snow flys. Well See how my Wonderful wife is.

GOOSE HUNTING 2008

Well its a new year and so far its been a good one. Gone out four times this year for geese and as luck would have it had four great hunts with limits every time. The only thing is its been hard to find dedicated people to come out and hunt with me. Of the four hunt two were by myself. Oh well. Thats life.

COYOTE'S

Well thanks to a friend I was introduced to the wonderful world of calling coyotes. What a blast. You would never think that having a dog come running to a call and stop to look at you three times while only being 15 yards away could get your blood pumping. But it dose. What a blast and what a way to get some fun hunting in when there are no seasons open. Give it a try and you will never regret it.

Antelope and Mule Deer 2007

Well after the moose it was time to go to Leader Saskatchewan for our trophy Mule deer and a new experience of hunting Antelope. Man Oh Man can they run for such a small animal. The first heard we came to had all does or the bucks lost there horns already so off to the next batch. We seen over 200 Antelope and only seen does so thats what we shot. When people say you lead them seven fence posts they arn't kidding. Man can they run. After a lot of shells Shea and I got our Antelope.
Our Mule deer was a little different. They were every where. It was like hunting rabbits. Shea shot his after a 2 km stalk and was done. Myself on the other hand was very picky and was wanting a 30+ incher wide or drop tines. This almost cost me not getting one but on the second day after passing a deer the night before that grew in size after we walked away from it. The next morning I shot my deer. He was'nt wide and never had a drop tine but he scored 183 2/8s. A nice deer. Maby next year I 'll get the wide one. We have'nt scored Shea's yet but it should be close to mine.

Goose Hunting 2007

Well no Guiding this year and that left me a lot of free time to hunt for myself. I got a lot of goose hunting done and with it came 2 bands. One from a Ross and One from a Greater Canada Goose. Here are a few pics of the 07 seasson. Gotta love It.
