Antelope and Mule Deer 2007

Well after the moose it was time to go to Leader Saskatchewan for our trophy Mule deer and a new experience of hunting Antelope. Man Oh Man can they run for such a small animal. The first heard we came to had all does or the bucks lost there horns already so off to the next batch. We seen over 200 Antelope and only seen does so thats what we shot. When people say you lead them seven fence posts they arn't kidding. Man can they run. After a lot of shells Shea and I got our Antelope.
Our Mule deer was a little different. They were every where. It was like hunting rabbits. Shea shot his after a 2 km stalk and was done. Myself on the other hand was very picky and was wanting a 30+ incher wide or drop tines. This almost cost me not getting one but on the second day after passing a deer the night before that grew in size after we walked away from it. The next morning I shot my deer. He was'nt wide and never had a drop tine but he scored 183 2/8s. A nice deer. Maby next year I 'll get the wide one. We have'nt scored Shea's yet but it should be close to mine.
